Inspiration | This pendant piece is inspired by the petrified remains of ancient forest across the plains of the Painted Desert National Forest in Arizona, USA. Ammonites are a long extinct species of marine animals that once thrived when the desert land was covered in water. Interesting fact about these marine cephalopods is as they grew, they would build a new chamber around them sealing off the prior smaller chamber. Most would build the most common spiral chamber mostly flat yet few fossils were found to be more elaborate and massive. They would continue to create new walls adding chambers along their entire life span, living in the most recently created chamber.  as if upgrading to larger living quarters. So very cool, isn't it?

Benefits | Ammonites represent stability, home and wealth. They signify health with long abundant life. They are associated with good luck, progress as well as evolution. As the shelled cephalopod would grow it would continue to move up into larger chambers. As a result they have come to represent building a new house or moving to a new home. They symbolize traditions, anchoring, and putting down the roots. Around 1981 they were given the status of a gemstone. It is said that anyone that owns a fossilized Ammonite will always be blessed with domestic happiness of health, wealth and lasting joy. It is an Earth healing stone that stimulates the Root chakra, providing structure and  strong foundation. It helps in relieving depression and providing a balanced state of mind.
